Culture of Jiu Jitsu Academy offers structured Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programs in Gaithersburg for children ages 3–12. Our kids classes focus on building confidence, discipline, respect, coordination, and real self-defense skills in a fun, positive environment.
Classes are led by experienced black belts and dedicated kids instructors, including Guto Santos (1st Degree Black Belt) and our coaching team under Max Gimenis.
Kids classes are split into two age-grouped tracks, Little Roots and Big Roots, so every child trains alongside peers at a similar developmental stage. Younger kids build technique through age-appropriate games and drilling, while older kids get more technical, competition-oriented coaching as they progress. Because BJJ rewards patience, problem-solving, and composure under pressure, kids consistently show improved focus both on and off the mat, along with real, usable anti-bullying skills built on calm confidence rather than aggression.
