Aspen Hill is a friendly community along Georgia Avenue, full of families and busy schedules. If your household wants a healthy new activity to share, martial arts is a great place to start. Aspen Hill is in eastern Montgomery County, Maryland, near Rockville and Wheaton.

Culture of Jiu Jitsu Academy is about 22 minutes away using the ICC (MD-200), a toll road. The academy is run by Max Gimenis, an IBJJF World Champion and UFC fighter, and co-owner Eric Philcox, a black belt under Max.

Everyone starts as a beginner here. We teach kids ages 3-12, adults and women, and your first 7 days are free.

Directions from Aspen Hill

1. Head North on Georgia Ave

From Aspen Hill, take MD-97 North (Georgia Avenue) to the ramp for MD-200 West, also called the ICC.

2. Take the ICC West

1. Head North on Georgia Ave

Follow MD-200 West, a toll road, as it turns into I-370 West. Take exit 2.

3. MD-355 to Girard Street

Take MD-355 for about 1.8 miles to Girard Street and pull into the large lot. Suite H is on the back of the building, across from the fenced basketball court. Total trip: about 22 minutes.

How far is the gym from Aspen Hill?

About 11 miles, or roughly 22 minutes. The fastest route uses the ICC (MD-200), which has tolls.

I've never trained. Is that okay?

Yes. All of our programs welcome beginners. Wear workout clothes without zippers, bring water, and start your free 7-day trial.

What ages can kids start?

Kids Jiu-Jitsu is for ages 3-12. Kids train in Little Roots or Big Roots, and no experience is needed.

Where do I park when I get there?

Use our large parking lot, which has lots of spaces. The entrance is on the back of the building, across from the fenced basketball court.

What days are classes?

Monday through Saturday. Most classes are in the evening, and we also have early and noon options. See the online schedule for times.
