Darnestown has open space, big yards and a quiet, small-town feel. What it doesn't have is a jiu-jitsu academy led by a world champion. For that, you only need to head east. Darnestown is one of the more rural corners of Montgomery County, Maryland, just west of Gaithersburg.
Culture of Jiu Jitsu Academy is about 20 minutes away. Follow Darnestown Road (MD-28), turn onto Quince Orchard Road near Quince Orchard High School, and you're almost in Gaithersburg. Max Gimenis, an IBJJF World Champion and UFC fighter, runs our mats with co-owner and black belt Eric Philcox.
Families out here often plan one trip for everyone. Kids can train after school while parents take an evening class, and the whole family can try it free for 7 days.
