Poolesville is small-town Montgomery County at its best, with Whalen Commons in the middle of town and farm fields all around in the Agricultural Reserve. What it's missing is a world-class jiu-jitsu gym close by. Poolesville sits in the Agricultural Reserve in western Montgomery County, Maryland.
Culture of Jiu Jitsu Academy is about 33 minutes east. The drive follows Fisher Avenue and Darnestown Road, then Quince Orchard Road into Gaithersburg. Once you're here, you'll train with IBJJF World Champion and UFC fighter Max Gimenis and co-owner Eric Philcox, a black belt under Max.
Because it's a longer drive, many families plan one trip for everyone. Kids ages 3 to 12 train after school, adults train in the evening, and all of it can be tried free for 7 days.
